Anybody (probably everybody) work on the Communicom L.A. Proper build, I think in '82. 212 miles in 2 weeks. I was a G.F. for AM Communications, and as I recall there were something like 850 lineman on that job. I remember the $500.00 bonus for every lineman that worked everyday if the project was completed. Now that was a party! 2 days after that job started, you couldn't find a Millers-Fall bit brace, reel of strand, or lasher for sale within 700 miles. I ran into old friends whom I heard were dead on that job. Also ran into a few who have owed me $5.00 from the last time I worked with them in Colorado, or I owed them from Connecticut and Maine. F#$%, I better stop, I'm aging myself.
