Re: Dish Network HD Question

My understanding of the diplexer issue is that DirecTV is pumping some of the KA/KU dish signals down through the coax around 700mhz. This would mean that those satellite signals would be separated onto the ANT side of the diplexer and not pass to the SAT port, thus preventing those HD signals that are present at those frequencies from passing to the satellite.

This is off-topic, but has anyone tried using wideband (5-2250mhz) power-pass splitters instead of diplexers for the KAKU? My other thought is that maybe a VHF/UHF separator/combiner could be manufactured that has power-passing and extends the UHF side to 2300mhz. Such things will definately need to be considered if DirecTV ever does an HD dual-tuner.
