Righton Cabledog,
Even back when it paid to be hooking 40 (kaff, kaff) poles everyday, I know plenty of GOOD (old) LINEMEN who were counting every stick, saving every penny for the day they could afford a down payment on a bucket.
Lots of guys EARNED their SU or T-40 Telsta on hooks in the easement. They just don't necessairly want to retire in the same easement state-of-mind. Better not make the mistake of calling these types bucket babies-they'd have you by the eye socket with the hookend of a layup stick before you even got your thumbs out of your ears.
Don't worry too much, they're an endangered species, very few left nowadays and unlike Cheetos, I don't think they're making more.
