Re: FTTP...What's difference from CIC placement

Hello again jace. Please reread prior post. All existing infrastructure is left intact until changeover. All placement is in new right-of-way locations, even if it is adjacent to existing plant. The FTTP is all new placement of duct ( mostly all 1.25" ( inch and a quarter ) HDPE pipe. Various size Handholes are being used as intersections for the necessary pipe breaks ( usually dependent on designed fiber lengths ). If connections of the new 1.25" HDPE is necessary, due to End-of-Reel, or other reasons to cut it, it is joined with compression couplings/screw on couplings, in which the unions must be installed properly and -- air-tight--, for in most cases the fiber will be blown. Some neighborhoods are recieving new above-ground peds, and others recieve below-ground ( Handholes/smaller round enclosures (Flower-pots ). Mostly all old existing Telco duct systems consisted of 4" PVC, which was necessary to accomadate the large copper mains. If you get involved with any man-hole runs for FTTP, it will involve rodding/proofing the vacant 4", and pulling 2-3 interduct ( 1" - 1.25" accordingly). I can not express this enough---during FTTP upgrade, all existing copper and it's enclosures will be protected and undisturbed whenever possible ( at all times ). Any more questions ? ?(nod)(wave)(wiggle)(wiggle)
