I agree that personal experience is not positive confirmation of the entire situation. When I first started training at DNSC, we had to test an entire drum full of LNBs that were "bad". Most of them were fine. I have always held the opinion that with the current methods of mass production and robotic assembly lines, that human error is usually more common than component trouble. However, bad batches do occur on production runs. Some machine gets calibrated 1/8th inch off and thousands of parts can go out with faults in them until someone discovers the problem. While I am sure such things have happened in the past, I don't think it is such a problem as to believe LNBs to be as suspect as many would think. Nevertheless, we can all agree that the 110 LNB on a fiberglass SuperDish is just garbage.
