Re: in house guy wants to become contractor

tugmn5 hey bud its opie and yes we get charged for non responders as well. Here is the deal to be a contractor sure you make a little more money but you also assume 100% of any damage claims, your work load will increase and they send the contractors all over the dmas. also most of the time any HSP you work for will not let you go to work for a contractor in the same system its in the contracts that we will not take the HSP'S guys. So where does that leave you to get work from? Ive been here in MN for a long time and have to say that this is one of the best money markets I have seen in a long time but there is always a catch. Are you ready to live in a hotel for long periods of time and are that confident that you can handle the extra work and the responsibilty of any damage claims, if you work for a real contractor they will require you to have general liabilty insurance before you roll out.My guys are out at 7am and dont usually get back till 8-10 pm but thats what most want when they are out of town the more time spent working the less time to spend that money and then when they do get home it was a trip well worth taken but you always need that rest when you come back in from the road. GOOD LUCK TO YOU IN YOUR VENTURE AND THE ONLY REAL WAY TO FIND OUT IS TRY IT,HELL YOU ONLY LIVE ONCE!! LATER OPIE
