And what about the interest the retainage money accrues??? Why isn't that returned on these 5 and 10,000 dollar retainages??? That interest added up comes to a pretty penny...And if the interest was invested that too would bring even more money in interest...
Retainages are to be PAID not held!!! You PAY a retainage to a lawyer so he has something to draw funds from if/when needed...and a lawyer works for you not the other way around...I think it is high time that these 'contractors' start paying us a retainage that they won't screw us...THATS how you do business...
