Don't forget also that if it is has open end rungs you will have to cut the top rung off. Otherwise you risk splitting the ladder.
I have taken hooks and V-bar from a Werner and remounted on
a nationwide open rung with no problems with nuts and bolts.
But now when I buy a new ladder i just pay the ladder company
the 25 bucks extra to remount that way my ladder still meets OSHA and they use rivets.
