Quadrature Amplitude Modulation.....transmission of digital data as an analog signal by using a carrier wave to split 2 carriers of the same frequency , 90 degrees apart, modulated to one of several discrete amplitude levels. The combination of the amplitude levels on the 2 carriers translates to a binary bit pattern.
