hope u like working 70+hrs a week cause if u are on a extra board get ready for it. yeah the pay is good but based on the amount of hours u work its only about 15-18$hr. i also thought the railroad was a way out of this industry. it lasted about a year. never saw my family. but it was the easiest job i ever had (physical) get ready for alot of bull####. i was usually called for work every 8hrs. i was with BNSF maybe UP will be better. good luck
