Re: 6x8 powered 4x8 stacking

One VERY IMPORTANT thing to understand in this situation is that the Ka part of the signal is bandstacked onto the lines, and the Zimmel 6x8 switch has a built-in destacker. Therefore, this causes each Ka/Ku dish system to act like an L-band system. By stacking multiswitches, you are crossing polarities all over the place, and you'll never get what you want. You would have better luck getting two blind traffic cops to dirvert all traffic on the Golden Gate Bridge to go North and South bound. It'll never happen. (BTW, The Golden Gate only runs East and West.)

Now to answer your question. In order to install this system with only one dish, you'll need to hire an RF Engineer, and be prepared to spend a lot of dough (because an RF eng. is not cheap) and several days of troubleshooting before it ever even starts to work.
Follow your fellow tech.'s advice: install the KaKu for Hi-Def, and use the Triple Sat and standard switches for everything else.

BTW, whoever told you to install the 6x8 and stack the multiswitches should go back to doing whatever it is they did before they scammed their way into their position. It's obvious that they don't know what they're talking about. Good Luck.
