Re: hard on illeagles?

It may sound as if this were a difficult process but in reality it was much faster than the process to work in this country if you are a foreigner. First thing is no one with a tourist visa is allowed to work, even for three months. Secondly, the process wouldn't take three months or even six months, try more like one to two years. Fees, yep we got those as well and they are quite high. Letter from your local law enforcement agency, gotta have one of those. Birth certificate, check. All doccuments translated to English, yep. So you see there is not much difference between the legal process for an American to work in Mexico and a Mexican to work in the US except the process for the Mexican is a bit more difficult and takes longer.
Take it from me, as the husband of a Colombian immigrant and having dealt first hand with our immigration officials, the process if long and frustraiting. Our immigration department is staffed by the laziest do nothing employees the government has to offer. We need some reform to simplify some of the processes and gain better control over who is allowed into this country.
