The users guide that comes in the box with each recever has install instructions. There are also trouble shooting pages in there. That will get you started. After that if you're stuck on something that it didn't cover you can call dish tech support from the jobsite and if you're lucky someone will know what to tell you. Experience will still be the best teacher. After a few months you'll be more confident. Ask other techs about stuff. After several years you'll be a pro, but remember, you're never to smart to learn something new. There is usually a lead tech with all companys. Get his telephone number and buy him a 12 pack after he helps you. He won't forget you. Good luck, we all were newbies at first.
