wtf? this post is as ignorant as "in-house vs. contractor" ok you've been here 20 yrs and know your industry, congratulations! the world has changed and satellite is a huge factor. i for one prefer cable, but with mso's going back and forth on work and always wanting to bring in the smaller prime that will work for less with more trucks doing more crap work and then 2, 3, 6, 12 months later wanting the tried and true to go from 3 trucks to 20 (then drop the quota) satellite is a real nice option. if you wonder why there aren't many "linedawgs" here anymore it's because (from what i here) the industry isn't what it was and installers don't have the chance to sit in one technology and still pay the bills like they did 20 or 30 years ago. so have a beer, or put that one down, and just wait till the fttp installers jump on and then fall off.
btw, did i mention that the one bright spot in installing satellite is that i don't have to rely on a "linedawg" screwing off a splice, cutting a tap backwards or getting the pad and eq backwards to make the thing work?
we're all trying to make our money and reruns and porn on a computer are still the end result of all our hard work, so don't take yourself so seriously.
