Judicial District Court of Travis County, Texas against
Centra Industries, Inc., Midwest Cable Communications
of Arkansas, Inc., Centra Wireless Construction, Inc., Gary
Fuchs, Larry Garriott and seven other individuals alleging
breach of contract, conspiracy, tortious interference with business
opportunities, misappropriation of confidential information,
fraud and breach of fiduciary duty, and defamation
and business disparagement, together with other claims
relating to employment of former employees of Corenet
and/or Winn Caribe and loss of contracts with Cox
Communications. The plaintiffs seek $5.0 million in lost
profits and exemplary damages. We believe the claims
set forth in the complaint to be without merit
and intend to vigorously defend against same.

The company was founded in Wilmington, NC, as M & W Electronics by
Frank McNeill and Sid Withers. M & W Electronics was renamed to
Communication Specialists after Sid left the company in 1956.
In 1959, the company's first branch office opened in Jacksonville, NC,
primarily servicing radio equipment at Camp LeJeune Marine Corps Base.
In 1971, Communication Specialists opened its second branch office in
Raleigh, NC providing mobile radio sales and service, community
repeaters and trunked radio for the Triangle Area.
Then in 1976, Communication Specialists became the first to offer radio
paging services to customers in the Greater Wilmington area.
Later in 1976, Communication Specialists formed a partnership with
retired Marine Jim Hamilton, offering mobile radio and paging services to
businesses and individuals in the Jacksonville / Onslow County area.
In 1996, Communication Specialists President Frank McNeill founded
Beacon Communications. Beacon Communications owns and operates 7
radio towers in Wilmington, Jacksonville and Raleigh. Beacon leases
tower space to more than a dozen national and international wireless
communications carriers.
In 1999, Wilmington Communications, Inc., a 17-year independent
two-way radio dealer, merged with Communication Specialists - bringing
founder, Michael Savage, and his whole staff onboard.
Also in 1999, Communication Specialists purchased CorpNet
Technologies, Inc., a Wilmington-based Internet Services Provider (ISP),
and began offering dial-up Internet and Web Site hosting services.
About eighteen months later, Communication Specialists acquired
QSON.net, another ISP.
Since 2001, Communication Specialsits has expanded its Internet
Services Division to offer high-speed DSL and Wireless Internet
services, web site design and hosting, Internet Hotspot and wireless
LAN. We have built a wireless Internet infrastructure that spans New
Hanover, Brunswick and Onslow counties
