Damn good point. Unfortunately most people wont see the math. They see the math that orgs. who represent 10% of the workers (even less in the private sector) in this country, should get the blame for 90% of the country's labor issues. They dont understand when corporate america fights for new laws that hurt union efforts, these laws hurt every workers efforts. Laws making it tougher for unions to fight for justice, also hurts all workers fight for justice. THE MATH IS, THESE LAWS HURT MORE NON UNION WORKERS THAN UNION WORKERS. When they weaken unions ability, these same laws weaken our indiVidual ability to fight also. They keep you focused only on the effect it will have on unions ( the 10%), so that you ( the other 90%) will never realize how it effects you until its too late. Do you really think so much time and effort we be put into lobbying for laws if these laws really only effected the 10% of workers unions represent???? Heellll no. They are out to weaken workers rights, not just union rights. And now we are starting to see why they wanted this done.
Corporate america has turned you against the orgs and the process that gives you the right to bring democracy in the work place. And they have done it just by showing you that labor groups, like any other group including themselves, are not perfect, which I guess is a big suprise to many people. Now they have weaken everyones legal ability to fight. Now they are starting the assault. They say immigrants do all the jobs american dont want. WRONG. We will do the jobs, but we require fair wages, and thats what corporate america doesnt like. They have made the laws workers need to bargain fair wages weaker, and now they are replacing us hoping that these immigrant workers will work for less since the money they make here is worth alot where they are from. Even now they have you against these labor orgs because they are trying to make sure these workers know they have the right to organize and fight for better wages if they are given the legal right to work here.
To Corporate Ameraica: Job Well Done. But it aint over....
