Thanks Guys- I have new tools and I've been doing this longer than I can remember-Today I pulled a brand new .625 coring tool out of the box and spliced a few taps. Same s#it. So, I built the next few taps with some lrc two piece connectors, and two more with ppc.Guess what! no cable twist at all. I always preferred gilbert due to the short stinger length, but it takes way to much time to make the plant as pretty as I want it to be.
I started this thread to see if maybe someone had figured out the cause of this problem, because I have always taken pride in a job well done and these piece of s*it connectors are making my job more difficult.
