Spliceman, i've used a ton of those connectors and the only time i had a similar problem seemed to be using a dull blade on the coring tool( tends to flare out aluminum). generally i lock down the housing portion then hold the cable with one hand and run the second portion up hand tight. The next step is a wrench on the first and second to torque it down. Always wondered why some jackson bends were pointing sideways.?! Hah!! good luck, Bro, you'll figure it out!! Later Mike M.
