I would not recommend leaving the back nut loose,I suspect you already know this and hopefully he does too, as egress and ingress would be a nightmare. I hate having to use inferior product yet being expected to make it perform as well as a proven winner such as the gilbert 3-piece.I would recommend approaching someone with the customer who understands your dilemma and beg for the 3-piece connectors(or better yet have them show you how) if they want a superior product. Some of the worst stuff to deal with was the 440mc2 what a joke how it made it through development is a mystery to me. I hate it when the loop wants to twist, I feel your pain wish I could help, thank God my boss doesn't scrimp on connectors.
