My grandson (or I should say step-grandson) came to this country from Colombia 2½ years ago. He spoke no English beyond "Hello" and "No". We put him in pre-school, none of the teachers spoke Spanish. He had a hard time the first couple of months, but he adjusted and started to learn English. Now he is in second grade, still no Spanish speaking teachers and he sounds like a good southern boy complete with "Ya'll's" and "YeeHaw's".
I can see where older kids (middle or high school age) may require more assistance and there be a need for bilingual teachers, but not the young ones, throw them in the group and they will pick up English on their own. Giving them special teachers is just one of those warm fuzzy thing the libs came up with.
