Dont see where youre really comming from. You seem to think if the issue is whether the rules are good or bad. Its not. The issue is OSG called the guy an ahole for enforcing a shop rule, that she sgreed to follow as a condition of her working there. Ive said a millions times that people in this industry only follow the rules they agree with. This thinking does not fly everywhere. There are people in this world who believe if you say you are going to follow the rules once given access to their shop, they expect you to keep your word.
OSG quoted the rules herself, she admits she was breaking the rules, she even admits to standing look out while the rule was being broken. She admits herself she was wrong. But she calls the steward and process an ahole. If she did not want to follow the rules, all she had to do is not work in that shop or refuse to sign whatever she said she signed.
Chilvary is not the issue here. The issue is how this is yet another example of how suits in this business have no problem with not following rules because they dont agree with them. I know this is accepted in our thing, but its not many places. Especially the places where wages and benefits are 1st class, and company/employee relations produce things like world class training to ensure everyone in the trade is taught properly.
So if youre issue in chivalry then were on 2 different pages.
