Theres an industry of low paying, OSHA ignoring, and labor violating companies that couldnt agree with you more.
Look Im not saying the ONLY way you get good training is being in a union. But to me its the best way to insure the trade is filed with only well trained and skille workers. But the fact is, only union employers work with their employees to provide good training and REQUIRE it to work. I think you have said many times yourself that companies here will hire anybody to do your job, if you were to ever complain. Non-union employers in this industry say they "care" about workers and the trade. But how do they show it? The ONLY thing I hear them say is that they provide work, thats it. They consider the fact that, they had the smarts to accept low rates for work then distribute work to installer, as a sign of caring. Where as union employers do the same PLUS provide workers with industry leading training, and industry leading pay to go along with it.
