Tiny word of advice. Please check for yourselves the limitations assocs. have in regards to bargaining wages. They have none, which is probably why the other assoc mentioned failed. Asking an assoc. to help stabilize wages is exactly what they cant do, anti-trust laws and all. Many people arent going to like to hear this, but theres only 1 type of org. protected by law to bargain wages for workers, and thats a bargaining unit as defined under the NLRA.
Since many people have dislike towards existing unions, my suggestion would be to form an independent bargaining unit/union. Its gives you the laws and protection you will need to bargain wages, but you will not have any association with "big labor".
