CCor node OMI set up

we have run out of high powered OMIs for our 750MHz CCor nodes and i was wanting some information on the limits of the RF output. our set up procedures call for a -1 output for the OMI in the node but it can be adjusted much higher and would meet levels at the head end receiver. what are the drawbacks and can this be done until we are able to get the high gain ones. thanks for any help.
