well i was kidding kind of. I pay my taxes. however If you owe a large sum of money for back taxes and you dont have the assets to pay the total amount, and as crawl said you get a lawyer they will make a deal. they dont want to break the working man so bad that he cant continue the higher income work. but you can bet they will be watching ya pretty close for the rest of your life.
the only reason i mention it is because i know a lot of guys are in trouble and worried because they owe back taxes. DONT WAIT UNTIL THE MAN KNOCKS ON YOUR DOOR. then its much harder to prepare and make a deal. so if your behind, get a lawyer now.
