here are the facts buys .....you get up at 5 drive 100 miles one way to be at work,with a little luck by 7:30......no prints till 8:30.........then you get gone by 9.that puts you on the job by 10......you look out across the pole line to see that you could have left the truck at home..you knock on the first door and of coarse no one's home,but the three bull dogs in the yard at the set up pole and they are not at all friendly .....oh wellllll(hence the phrase get er done).at this time you just casually walk through the gate showing no fear (real dawgs have none anyway)only to notice a pole covered with saw briars and poison oak.......and this is only the first of 15 just like this but this is the easy one ....after 5 hrs of jigging you get to the last pole that is in a swamp....good thing that you water proof your westies once a week......and damn the bug nut is only 10 feet of the pole and you got to put up a 80 lb lasher ....more wieght than every thing a splicer even owns .sao you lol and say heres your daddy boys i'll get it throwing you belt around the strand being there is no bell to walk on....you work the lasher from upside down and finally get it spinning toward the next pole ......cool......14 poles later and 10 dogs ....the job is complete.the poles are clear for the splicers(they still gripe).......you get back home somewhere around 8:00 and then go for a run and hit the wieghts so you can still keep up with the young guys..........you get in bed around midnight realizing that you cant put your knees together for the pain ....as you fall asleep you say to your wife as you smile a bit ........daddy is still a bad fo when he wants to be....getting a little satisfaction from a job well done ....a job that most cant even do.........you get no thanks for it no bounus no pat on the back you rise again the next day just to do it again ........linemen.....working beyond the bug nut ..........this is reality at least once a week on most jobs and some are a lot worse ......but...........I LOVE IT
