Maximize your face time.

If stuck in residential, only stop at houses where it is obvious somebody is home. Most time is wasted knocking on doors where no one answers. You may have to use your car more but you will get more face time.

Use your printout. If a house has a dish, only stop at it if the printout indicates the dish is over a year old and now the customer is probably month to month with the dish provider. A prime candidate for a dish buyback. Otherwise it is a total waste of time soliciting newly disconnected customer that has just installed a dish.

Try upgrades to existing customers. Easiest are conversions to digital packages for customers that have basic and 1 or more premium channel and just about everybody likes HSI and cheaper phone bills. A total package approach showing savings on their total Cable, HSI, and Phone bills might work well with existing customers.

Always be on the lookout for illegals whether you are paid to audit or not; especially on duplexes and apartments and UGs. Once verified, snip them on the spot and leave a flyer or check back when someone is home to get a conversion.

That's what I used to do anyway and it usually worked out fine.
