We have a tool that basically tells us upstream performance and downstream performance per modem or MTA. That then ties the mac id to the address where the modem is located and then from there you can tie it to a particuallar amp/le ect... This is all automated and it is done daily, if we see a problem then we roll a truck to investigate the problem.
I believe it is multiple applications that are tied together to give us this information.
