If the order has a phone number on it call it the night before explain who you are and that you will be there to collect or disconnect the next day. Alot will make arrangements to leave you money or a check somewhere even if they arent going to be home. I've had them leave me the payment in a grill in the backyard.....or under a potted plant on the porch.
Also, once you have done it a little while you will get a feel just by sizing up the house who might pay and who might not if they were home. Those that you think might pay but werent home cut them off & put them in a seperate pile and return to them after 5pm and let them know you will cut them back on right now without reconnect charges if they can pay you the bill (that is if your getting a bonus for the saves) This onl.y works well if you have a few of them in a close area so your drive time is not much.
