The people you run into in this biz years ago I ran into a guy who had a flakey contract, 5000 retainage where other people want 1500, and a clause that said if you quit you must give him 30 days written notice,which he must approve in writing, or you will forfeit final payments and all retainages due. I called him on it, he said change 30 days to14 days, I said I am not signing
anything with forfeit on it, he said, he said he has people looking for work all the time, I said yes, but you are missing the obvious, are they worth anything?? I saw him rebuild the same line with 3 crews before they got it right, so that speaks for itself. I told the cable co about it, they could care less, I went to work for his competior, but it broke my ambition for the biz. I have had to fight my way past vicious dogs to do the work, but I am not fighting anybody for my check.
