Granted.....SimplyWired's statement may be a bit blunt and shallow. I think a revision of it should be made: "Learn the language before you come".

Look at all the other nationalities that immigrate to the USA in search of a better life: Japanese, Chinese, Vietamese, Arabs, Hindu, Pakistani, people from Isreal, Laos, Cambodia, Egypt, the former states of Russia...Damn near all those immigrants speak some conversational english BEFORE they hit our shores. Coming to America is a big deal and a big break for them and they know it. So they work hard for it by learning the language BEFORE they get here. YES!! There are mexicans that come to the USA with some english. Most don't.

In my opinion, the mexican immigrants that DO speak some english, have taken english classes in Mexico and have gotten here through LEGAL procedures. Those that DO NOT speak any english have probibly swam the river and are here illegally. Those are the ones that should "Go Home".
