To me it is, or at least was, more fun. I was able to wear shorts as long as we looked professional. (I wore coveralls in the attic). The routes were spread out so a common day of 200 miles driving wasn't uncommon. Tips and sidejobs were good. The benefits was I carried my golf clubs and was able to hit up some practice or play in differant towns between jobs. No humping a 28' ladder through trees. Pay was at or above cable. The real negative nowadays is most places, you have to provide your own cable, fittings and other stuff. Keep your cable contractor friends now to buy from later.
