Your correct a meter is approx. 39 inches, but a square meter would be 39" x 39". If the measurement were diameter then it means the dish could be no more than 39" across or tall. I'm not sure of the exact width of a Directway dish or the old Primestar dishes , but I think they are/were wider than 39".
