Depending on what pulsewidth your using, the "Dead Zone" differs. Higher pulsewidth means a greater dead zone. 73 Lineman is right. You need to use a 1K launch cord to seperate your Front-end connector from your laser output on your OTDR. This is a formality for most span acceptance testing, since if there was a major problem near your front-end, you would most likely see it without the launchcord anyways.
