Help! New to cable

Help! I am a sat tech with 10+ Yrs going back to Primestar. Currently doing Dish net w/ small local retailer. NOt much work here, so I went to a job fair in austin, Tx with a company called c-cor doing cable. I have NEVER done cable and need some advice. Anyone ever worked w/c-cor? Is there any money in cable? I've heard the line to many times to fall for the "top pay" routine. I am definitely not afraid to work. Just afraid to work for free. Advice please!
