Here is a theory on what may be taking place with companies that do not reply after obtaining our information. Call me paranoid, but they could be fishing for our personal information SS# etc, to steal our identity.
This didn't occur to me until I had a company frantically ask for my information and fill out 10 pages of contracts, insurance, etc.. Only to have this company give me no work whatsoever 2 weeks and counting now. Maybe I am paranoid, but I will think twice from now out before voluntarily giving out my info and getting other companies placed on my GL insurance.
