Re: He was in the residence installing cable

Sure it's just the cable guy, but you can never be too sure, right? Take it from the Lake Hill Farm resident who took precautions, just in case.

According to Chester town police, the resident put all her valuables away before the cable installer arrived. Everything, that is, except a two-foot-high plastic water jug in her master bedroom. It was filled with more than 20 years of coins worth $460.

Police say that Sean Sisler , 25, of Pequannock, N.J. arrived at the home Monday to replace a satellite connection with cable. While installing the wiring, he asked the homeowner to go downstairs to monitor a sensor.

In the time it took for the sensor to go on, Sisler allegedly lugged the jug to his truck.

After Sisler left, the resident saw a coin on her bedroom floor and picked it up. When she went to put the coin into her jug, she discovered it was missing.

Police questioned Sisler Wednesday. They gleaned enough evidence to suspect that he stole the change, as well as cashed it in for bills at a New Jersey Bank, police said. He was charged with petty larceny and released on $80 bail.

A Cablevision spokesman last night said the installer was a subcontractor and not a Cablevision employee. The matter is under investigation by the company and law enforcement, he said. (joker)
