I work for a company that is fairly new to Internet services. We have had it for about 6 months now and went through a rebuild just before to install fiber lines and replace taps and amps for return line.
My question is this, as we are new to return lines, I do not feel as though our systems return is setup right. We have some customers with boardline (high) transmit from the modems. We have done everything we can to improve this by running New RG6 drop and house cable while only using a 2 way splitter. Could this be caused by the return EQs and PADs not being steup right in the amps? If so would it help to put in a lower value return pad in?
I have tried this on one amp and it took a 58 transmit to a 50.
Is this ok or is there other optins to lower the transmit?
ps forgive me as I have only work in cable for alittle over a year..
thanks
