Kind of hate to break it to ya, and a lot of companies too, but legally if you are being paid piece rate, you have to make at least minimun wage, and you have to be paid any ot you work on top of your piece rate. You have to divide your hours into the pay you are getting for the piece rate, then that gives you an hourly rate. If you are not getting minimum wage you have to be brought up to minimum wage. If you worked over 40 hours, you have to figure what to time and a half would be and pay that for any hours over 40 that were worked. I know it bites for companies, and isn't fair when you have people that milk it for all it's worth, but that is what employment laws are!
