Re: Figure 8 Machine set-up

We used a figure 8 machine in S.Fla. doing a fiber interconnect for county schools and traffic dept.It was all U/G running and the reels where dual 144 cts. with an average length of 6 miles.Although I hated the job(U/G sucks) the figure 8 machine worked flawlessly and was even able to do the 2 fibers at once although I don't know if it was designed for that(the fiber all shot fine).I don't understand the bitching about setup time as it took us all of 5 minutes to set it up and it did the work of many people in a fraction of the time.The only problem I could associate with the machine was when the boss came by it looked liked we worked for the county road crews(most of us standing around while the machine did the hard work.
