From your question, I can't be certain what type of upgrade you mean. I assume you are going from 64 QAM to 256 QAM. If this is the case, or even if it isn't, ingress will still be what kills you. A 256 QAM signal is more easily corrupted by the same old problems everyone has had before.
As far as what you can expect, you can expect to spend more time locating sources of ingress, which is really nothing new.
