Most of my installs are DISH, so I guess you could say that is me tied up in that lashing. Despite my field, I take no offense to that picture and found it quite amusing. I used to work the cable jobs too, but the MSO crapped the pay down. Now the only guys doing cable around here all live in the same house.
Now, some of you can whine about satellite installers, but in the end, the competition is what drives all the platform providers to improve their product. Trying to keep up with the competition is what keeps cablers putting up new systems, and dish guys putting up fancier setups.
I have met up with cable guys in my line of work quite often when they show up to put in the HSD while I'm there. Sometimes, we have even gone to the bar afterward. The other bar, the one with a pool table or two. I don't see any reason to harbor animosity towards the competition. Without it, cable wouldn't be driven as hard to upgrade their products.
