Your right about the quaility tech not being lead techs you can make better money installing. With all the Q.C. inventory routing of work techs calling you at 9:00 am saying their not working, dealing with Irate coustomers some tech's done blown off. It's sure not worth all the bull crap to be a lead tech these days. Back in the prime star days that was a very good position to be in you got over-rides on installs and upgrades The satellite business has gone down hill ever since Prime Star sold out to Direct. Prime Star had a real Q.C. program at the rsp level and at the corporate level you didn't fail but a couple of Q. C. inspections and you were gone. I left the residental side started doing commerical installs and service about a year ago after being ripped off by a couple of thiefs running a fullfillment company {Fred Hariston and Kent Waddell formerly Absolut Communications} I wouldn't go back except maybe to sell/install for a local retailer. HSP RSP independent installers need to get together stop installing for one week you could really make some changes happen, but as long as the cards are getting lit, it's going to be bussiness as usual
