If there is something to fall on (fence, post, sign) I'll lug the ladder. Climbing to put someone in service is no reason to end up paralized or dead. Make sure the pole doesn't have pole rot, look on your way up as well, I climbed a good pole, got to 10 feet or so, and cut out because of shell rot. Climbing is alot of fun (and very machismo) but do it safely so you can continue to climb for years. Later, Red
