Over the years you'll find out that the only rule need be....Knees and the nutts must stay 6" to 12" from the pole. if yer nutts & knees touch the stick your coming down! everyone is also really scared of falling. After you fall a couple of times you'll find out it isnt that bad to break away. Everyone I ever climbed with just put the spikes on and walked up em....or deal with luggin that dam ladder.
