The facts are these:
In 2003, Roland sold $57,000.00 in what eventually were determined to be worthless/bogus invoices to a factoring company, receiving an advance of $40,000.00.
When payment became due, Roland’s customer, MSTA refused to pay claiming the invoices were fake. Phyllis Shumphert Davis, main principal of MSTA, has maintained that Roland and a confederate placed inside MSTA, ran a clever swindle, bilking MSTA out of 10s of thousands of dollars and literally ran MSTA out of business.
When confronted by the factor company, Roland reneged on his contractual obligations and never paid a cent. Instead, in early 2004, Roland shut down his corporation, New Age Communications, Inc. and reopened a new corporation, One Choice Communications, nearly the same day using the same address and phone numbers. A classic con artist trick.
Roland was eventually sued in a Texas court in early 2005 and agreed to a settlement and made payments of approximately half of the settlement until payments stopped several months ago. Roland is now in breach of the settlement and facing further litigation in Chicago shortly.
Efforts to contact Roland have been futile as Roland is up to his old con artist tricks: Roland has shut down his business phone numbers and won’t even respond to his Texas attorney’s phone calls to his cell phone.
Pitiful. Just absolutely pitiful.
