The simple difference is the # of splinter scars! If you climb sticks you get them. I lost one eye to a jay hook (I don't drive them with my left hand anymore)!
Does anyone KNOW what the top side of the pole means?
After thumping the pole I decided I should stay there (WRONG).
Old and rotten I (SHOULD) have used a ladder on the low side. New and full of balls I couldn't use fiberglass! So I decided to stay up there on my hooks and put it in left handed (bad call)!
This was an easement pole not bucketable and in the middle of the jungle. We were there to replace a hazard pole. A cedar placed in 57 so the print said. By the way it was just 50 pair I/M cable sitting in the J not much to support it.
Oh well I don't believe their is a Lineman out there that doesn't have a story. That is what makes us linemen.
This industry will continue on the path it is on until we stop the UNION trained monkeys or KIDS just getting out of school and they are made to work with the those that have and know better now!
YOU CAN NOT FIND THIS KNOLEDGE IN BOOKS!!!!!
