Saddly, I see another aspect. There are managers who work for many large and small companies who, with the blessing of the corporation, encourage tradesmen to exert; "take the good with the bad"
I just don;t see a relationship between doing good work and a reward. Correcting a job and taking a loss will produce a smile on the face of some management wonk and another underbid project for craftspersons to consider.
At some point you gotta walk away. The list of companies that operate at a loss and prosper is written is on the back of every business card.
