Your aluminum jacket is smooth and insulated from the stinger with a pin connector. It is not a braid and does not act as an antenna. Think of the tv antenna on the roof as redrocker said it is not just a pole it has fingers sticking out. So your drop braid sticking out although a lot smaller will do the same.
