I've worked with 2 brands of power passing taps, the S.A. with the P.D.U. that requires that a shunt inside the P.D.U. be moved to pass power out of the port and a newer model that has switches on the side that are turned with a screwdriver, the P.C.T. integrated tap that can be powered either twisted pair or coax that require a small shunt to be placed inside the P.D.U., if twisted pair is used the P.D.U. is removed and the shunt is placed into the tap. (P.D.U. = power distibution unit )
